About Us

UTD Sustainability Club is the University of Texas at Dallas' club devoted to promoting sustainability in and around campus. Our meetings are the first Mondays of the month 4:00PM on the ATEC Bleachers. We welcome all suggestions and project ideas. Our club is structured to invite members to individually head projects they are passionate about, using the club as a source of support, advice, volunteers, and connections. We also are a committee based system, as in we have 3 main focus groups that are centered around different aspects of being sustainable.

The committee groups are as followed:

Food Crew - Providing awareness and sustainable practices to eating, managing food waste and promoting a healthy diet. Welcomes all to join, not exclusive to just vegetarians and vegans.

Recycling Crew - Emphasizing the important of reusing, saving and utilizing disposable materials to their fullest, and educating on what is recyclable as well as teaching others to be aware of recycling systems on campus. Works very close with the Sustainability Office. All are welcome to join.

J-Crew - Unaffiliated with the retail, J-Crew is this all-around awareness group that strives to bring student involvement to its maximum. Organizes events such as Documentary nights, lecture series and public activities and workshops to educate students on campus about many aspects of being sustainable on a local and world level. Anyone welcome to join to help run events and suggest ideas for the future.

The club is open to all students to join and we welcome enthusiastic, driven and caring people. Additional details on meetings and project updates will be given throughout the semester.
