What is UTD PBPHS?

University of Texas, at Dallas – Post Baccalaureate Pre Health Society.

The Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Society (PBPHS) at UT Dallas was founded as an organization to support first time, non-traditional, and returning students who find themselves resuming their school careers in order to become a doctor, dentist, veterinarian, or other health professional. The PBPHS is dedicated to helping such people accomplish their goals through access to important information and resources such as:

  • Bringing representatives from medical, dental, veterinary, and other health professions schools to campus
  • Informative and inspirational talks from Pre Health Committee advisors and former UTD students
  • Providing opportunities for volunteerism, shadowing, and other important, health career related activities
  • Awards for consistent demonstration of leadership or participation in support of the organization and its events
  • Opportunities to form social connections with other, non-traditional students who find themselves in the same boat

Our primary purpose and mission is for all of our members to gain entry into the professional school of their choice. Yet we can only be as effective as our members are willing to make us. It is only by our own efforts that we can best support each other through a difficult, but worthwhile journey towards becoming health care professionals.
