OUR MISSION: To provide free online tutoring and academic resources to underserved communities.
WE ARE:
- organized exclusively for educational purposes on the principle of using the World Wide Web as a medium for people of all ages to grasp their educational potential
WE HOPE:
- to foster and cultivate free online tutoring services that are driven by a community of users dedicated to teaching and mentoring those in need.
- include tutoring sessions that occur online with the tutor and the student to create a seamless transition from one-on-one in-person tutoring to one-on-one online tutoring
Learn to Be at UT Dallas
Learn to Be – UT Dallas is established for the expressed purpose of assembling college students in an organization dedicated to the principles of leadership, service, and education; to promote the principle of using the World Wide Web as a medium for people of all ages to grasp their educational potential, and to create a presence in local schools through fundraising and activism. We aim to find interested students and staff at UTD to tutor students in K - 8th grade nationwide through an online one-on-one setting using interactive audiovisuals and a virtual whiteboard. Many of these students access Learn To Be through their school's computer lab and cannot afford traditional tutoring.
Becoming a Member
Learn to Be @ UTD welcomes new members on a basis of rolling admissions. We offer national certification in math, language arts, and the sciences, and can schedule a time to work with your schedule. Further, as a group, we exist to serve our community, and so work with local school districts to place students in school for hands-on tutoring experience. We're always looking for new ideas and new talent, and have leadership positions available for those who want to be more involved. We're here to serve you and our community, so join today!
