We are "Iota of Texas," the Alumni Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at UTD.

Mission Statement: We, the members of Phi Theta Kappa's Iota of Texas Alumni Association at The University of Texas at Dallas, hereby associate ourselves to continue to uphold the purposes of Phi Theta Kappa; provide a continuing fellowship of Phi Theta Kappa members; help transfer students become accustomed to the senior institution and the life it affords; and recognize and encourage scholarship and leadership among Phi Theta Kappans.

We are here for you!

At the community or technical college level, students who excel are expected to participate in numerous activities within the Phi Theta Kappa organization. Even though every moment spent in service is worthwhile, we realize the pursuit of your education is your primary focus. If you're thinking you don't have time for Iota, let's take a moment to reassess!

Iota of Texas' membership boasts distinguished alumni whose aim is to mentor incoming university students without putting demands on their time. Although there are no required activities, there are opportunities for participation to any degree you would like to be involved!

Iota can make your transfer to the University of Texas at Dallas a pleasurable one.

We're looking forward to meeting you! 

       Goals for 2011:

1. To increase membership and participation by 60%.
2. Develop a scholarship fund for transfer PTK members to UTD.
3. Raise $500 to donate to Dr. Mary Hood Leaders of Promise scholarship.
4. To develop a local scholarship for local chapters to help with members induction fees. (AAC requirements and Goals)
5. Scholarship – is to increase involvement in the UTD mentoring program, and develop more informational workshops for chapters.
6. Service – is to collectively have 250 community service hours completed by Dec. 31, 2011.
7. Fellowship – increase fellowship participation among IOTA by 60% by attending, hosting, and developing fellowship activities locally, on campus, and regionally.
