 Our very own member LaToya Mitchell received the Service Award in recognition of being a PILLAR in the Greek Community at the Spring 2015 Greek Awards!


After attending the 2015 Spring Greek Awards Ceremony, Sigma Kappa was honored to receive the Highest New Member GPA from NPHC, the Highest Active Member GPA from NPHC, Excellence in Community Standards of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Sigma Kappa would like to congratulate Uwa Izekor on being awarded the Cassandra L.Black Achievement Award from the National Pan-Hellenic Council in Dallas. We are extremely proud of all of the dedication and hard work you have put into the chapter and community. This award is truly deserved.

Sigma Kappa HERstory

In 1996, an interest group, Pearls 'n' Ivy was formed by seven dediciated young women with the goal of chartering an undergraduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas

After many years of hard work and perseverance, multitudes of sweat and tears, the "Stunning" Sigma Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc was created by the "Thirteen Tenacious Pearls with A Dream" on December 8, 2001.
