On behalf of the “Stunning” Sigma Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, it gives me great pride and pleasure to welcome you to our website! We are happy that you have taken the time to visit our website to learn more about us.
Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded on Wednesday, January 15, 1908, on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C. We are the first Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women. For 106 years, our prestigious sorority has continued to uphold the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and supreme “service to all mankind!”
Sigma Kappa was chartered on December 8, 2001 on the campus of The University of Texas at Dallas by the “Thirteen Tenacious Pearls with a Dream. Our stunning chapter has hosted numerous social, educational, and community service programs that have improved the social stature of people both within and outside the UT Dallas community. In order to build an even greater legacy of impact and achievement in our community, Sigma Kappa’s theme for Spring 2014 is to “Lead, Serve, and Love” which supports the sorority’s, current international theme of “Global Leadership Through Timeless Service.” The exceptional women of this chapter are extremely active leaders on campus, maintain superb reputations within the community, and truly desire to share in the success of our university.
We sincerely appreciate your visit to our chapter’s website and hope that you able to access our website anytime at your convenience in order to stay updated with our service events, and/or read our history and learn more about our national program initiatives.
Thank you again for visiting and “Go Comets!”
