Welcome to the website of the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. As the proud President of this illustrious chapter, I invite you to explore the pages of our website, learn of our exceptional growth, and share in the joy we have for positively impacting our community.
On January 15, 1908, on the campus of Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha became the first Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women. For over 100 years, our prestigious sorority has continued to uphold the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and supreme service.
Chartered on December 8, 2001 at the University of Texas at Dallas, the Stunning Sigma Kappa Chapter has continued to preserve the heritage that Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded upon and strive for local, regional, and national excellence. The exceptional women of this chapter are extremely active leaders on campus, maintain superb reputations within the community, and truly desire to share in the success of our university.
We serve our great UT Dallas community by implementing sisterly service through signature chapter programs such as PillowTalk, Pink D.R.E.A.M, AKAerobics, AKAtropolis, and a SophistAKAted Affair. Sigma Kappa maintains a stronghold on the mission of our sorority as we exalt our history, our culture, and our purpose—to be “of service to all mankind”.
We sincerely appreciate your visit to our chapter's website and hope that you are able to share in many enjoyable memories with us by attending our campus programs and service events. Please feel free to contact us.
Thank you again for visiting and Go Comets!
